Europe’s steel makers request allowance for higher CO2 emission
Posting Date:[2010-11-03]
Reportedly, Europe’s steel makers have proposed the allowance for carbon dioxide emission since the EU’s emission programs from 2013 is too strict even after the adjustment in internal EU consultations.
The initial figure of 1.328 metric tons of carbon dioxide emission for each ton of steel produced is too low to steel industries while it’s too high to the environmental group.
The EU is planning to launch a program of carbon trade through 2020, aiming to reduce greenhouse gas emission by charging the producers a fee for emitting the gas.
