Global steel demand to grow slightly in 2016: Worldsteel

Global apparent steel use is expected to grow by 0.7 percent, year-on-year, to 1.523 billion tonnes in 2016, the World Steel Association told its conference in Chicago on Monday.
This year, global apparent steel use is on course to fall by 1.7 percent to 1.513 billion tonnes, it added.
In its April forecast, the association said global apparent steel use would grow 0.5 percent this year to 1.544 billion tonnes, and by 1.4 percent to 1.566 billion tonnes next year.
